Sweet Candy Gel’s newest winter collection is called the Snow Foggy Collection. It is a popular knit gel polish series with cool and muted tones that are perfect for winter. What makes this collection so special is that there are micro glitters mixed into the gel giving it a subtle shimmer and sparkle.

Admittedly, knit gels or furry gels are not usually my first choice. I’ve seen my fair share of furry nail designs that looked just a bit too hairy for me. When Sweetie Nail Supply gifted me this collection, I was still skeptical but WOW – it changed my mind completely! Here are three reasons why:

1. Knit fibers – the knit fibers are very thin, short, and the colour is similar to that of the base polish. This makes the “hairy” look less apparent unless you look closer.
2. Not as saturated – the fibers are not as saturated throughout the polish. Other knit gels I’ve tried had so much of the fibers that I found myself having to pluck or wipe off the excess because it just got hairier and hairier.
3. Subtle glitters – the subtle glitters that are mixed into the gel give it a beautiful sparkle and again helps distract the look from being overwhelmingly hairy.

Nail Design

Of course, I’m not just saying I like this collection after only swatching the polishes. Here is a set of nails I’ve designed and worn featuring shades No.415 and No.416.

Note that in photos, it always looks furrier because it is very zoomed in. While wearing these nails I find myself forgetting that they are knit gel polishes and when I look closer at my nails they give me a warm and cozy feeling. I don’t find the knit fibers to be overpowering and the subtle shimmers from the glitter are beautiful. It didn’t give me an icky feeling at all.

Overall, this collection really changed my mind on knit gel polishes and I’m excited to use them on more winter designs!

PS. This would be a great polish to use with embo powder to create 3D sweater nails!
